D1. Mansfield now head the League after a decisive home win over Gambit 1. Newark 1 and Beeston 1 share the spoils. Ashfield 1, the surprise team of the season, win at RAB1 and occupy third place. It’s good to see that the three promoted clubs now are all proving competitive in the top division.
D2 Leaders, Gambit 2 suffer their first defeat at the hands of Gambit 3. RAB 2 score their first win at struggling West Bridgford 2.
D3 Leaders, University 2 suffer their first defeat at home to Beeston 3.
D4 Central 1 retain their top spot, after a draw v West Nottingham 2, helped by the visitors’ top board default.
D5 Gambit 7 defeat Beeston 3. Ashfield 5 draw with RAB 6. The average age of RAB’s team of Golden Oldies was 83 years. Ashfield fielded their own veteran on Board 2, on which the combined ages of the players was 180 years, both having been born in the 1930s.The Ashfield team fielded 3 players who have graduated from the Minor League , and are playing their first season in the League proper.
